Apprenticeship

The Ohio Pipe Trades maintains an institute of Higher Education known as the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC).  This department of the Union/Contractor team is charged with the responsibility of training all apprentices and the continuing education of our Journeymen. The Ohio Pipe Trades JATC spends $14,000,000 annually to educate our workforce so they can be the most productive and safest workforce in the industry.  Our Apprenticeship programs require our apprentices to attend five years of school and five years of on-the-job training.

The learning that takes place in apprenticeship has been assessed by the American Council on Education and other organizations and colleges so that an apprentice can complete an associate of arts or associate of science degree simultaneously with journey-level credentials in the craft of their choice.

The United Association offers state registered apprenticeship programs in Plumbing, Pipefitting, Sprinklerfitting and HVAC Service. Interested in starting an apprenticeship with the United Association? Click your area below to find out how.
